‘Dolly Mixtures’

5 positive/reverse relief cast glass pieces on white marble bases

Dimensions: h38 x w25 x d10 cm

Date: 2013

The imprint of the dress on these pieces are created by making a silicon mould from a dolls dress. I then make plaster positive and negatives and place these into the kiln with the billets of glass on top. During a four day firing process the glass melts and anneals. The plaster is then broken away leaving either the negative space the dress left or the ‘positive’ of the dress on the surface of the glass.
