Three slumped box cast pieces with decals
Dimensions: h28 x w15 x d4cm
Collection of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland
This piece was created whilst the Catholic Church in Ireland (and abroad) were in total denial about the child sex abuse scandal. It struck me that the hierarchy within the church believed that the church itself was more important than its very bedrock, the congregation. It made me think of the Old Testament story of the Holy Innocents when the King Herod ordered an infanticide to protect his own throne.
